OK, so the post title is a daft one, I hear of them all the time, but after a year of not having one single issue, I kind of forgot what it was like to get a PC Virus, I know Macs can still get them, with a larger and larger market share they are more and more targeted now it seems.
Is it knowledge that has ensured I have had a worry free 14 months or so, is it the sites you do or do not visit, is it the software you are using?
I was against Nortons for a long long time, it slowed everything down, in an age when speed is required, then in the Philippines I met a chap called Pierre (Yes, French, but a damn good bloke) when I was slagging off Nortons one day about slowing everything down, he simply said 'Thats because it is doing its job' on further Kip like questioning, which is almost interegation, when I get a bone in my teeth, Matt (An Aussie mutual friend) told Pierre to tell me his job title, "Head of Security for HP!"
Well you cannot argue with that can you! And as I have always thought people that ask a mate in a pub for plumbing or insurance advice a tad daft, (I say ask the experts) I had to agree with a man that knew far more than I! As soon as I got back to the UK I had Nortons 360 put on my HP, after making sure I had a faster ram and processor, worked like a charm.
Here I am over a year later, still not had a virus in a long long time, so I wondered if the rest of the elite are still suffering, or are we just getting older and wiser, and appreciate the worth in good protection?
