The Prime Minister

The Prime Minister

Postby Kip FX Design » 09 Nov 2009, 08:24

When I first got back in the UK in June of last year after 18 months traveling around SE Asia, I thought an accountant was exactly what the country needed at the Helm!

Now I cannot believe how little I knew of our esteemed leader, amazing how quick the mighty can slip, I have heard one excuse that the reason he forgot to bow his head on Remembrance Sunday was due to issues on his mind, I do not care what issues he has, if he cannot take 2 minutes to think of nothing but our Grandfathers, Grandmothers, Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins and other family members that died so that we might live, both past and present, then why the hell is he in such a position of power?

I am not a religious man, but was raised as a Mormon many a year ago under my Mums hand, and one thing that really seems like a slap in the face for our forces is the fact that it is taught now (and always has been) that Jesus died on the cross that we might live, and this man (whether fictional or real) has billions of supporters 2,010 years on, and yet when our soldiers do the same for us, they are forgotten in a heart beat.

What kind of country are we really living in?

Where is the patrionism and support for our soldiers when those of them that are lucky enough to make it back, come home, they are given grief and abuse.

My wife's 15 year old daughter heard nothing of remembrance day at school (used to sell poppies at school when I was in school, and I am only in my early 30's) a client was ringing me at bang on 11am, and had to disregard his call twice.

What the hell is happening?

Is this the future of this small but mighty nation?

Whats next?

hmmm, where to start?

First off - I live in Germany at the current time, have done for the past 5 years but am moving back to the UK in July/August next year. Originally from Windsor and get back to visit the folks whenever I can.... I'm what you would call a floating voter in that I don't stick to one party, I like to see who is doing what in the area I live etc. and vote accordingly.

PM Brown:  seeing as this guy was in charge of the countries funds for the past 10 years it is a nightmare that the UK now finds itself as one of the economies that just cannot pull itself out of the toilet. The sooner he departs the better for the country in my honest opinion.

As PM there is no excuse for not following protocol at public events at sensitive times of the year. How many times would he have been told by the butler, the driver and all the other people DONT MAKE ANY MISTAKES TODAY.. and, what happens. d'oh! :?

What with all the expenses nonsense that still continue, how can the man (or women) in the street really place any trust in the leaders of our country?

I can't really get started on how bad this country is or how the world is changing.

Its not just the PM, or politics. Its the Governments, Councils and basically people all over the world. Attitudes are changing. The world is getting faster and less personal and we are treated like crap basically.

If you have any issues, calling a Governmental department is a hellish experience. The don't care, lose your data and chase you for money that gets spent on statues and silly eyesore monuments in town centres.

Im angry at the way the world is going. It won't be long before we are given numbers instead of names. Its slow coming, but George Orwell kind of got it right.

Is the PM to blame? Not really, but it does come down to politicians like David Cameron who are born with a silver spoon in their mouths that have never really wanted for anything. How can they lead this country on bebahalf of the people when they really have no clue how we feel?

Im not for the BNP at all, but they do have a point sometimes. I have not voted for many years. I really can't be bothered, and I know that the vote goes to the opposition, but I don't really care as they are all the same. Promise you the earth, then damage it even more.

</end rant>

This country is unfortunately lead by intelligent people who aren't in it for the people, but this is a two way game and i believe we make our own destiny, particularly in business. We don't help ourselves, these people only make the rules, how they're read and used is down to us. Some people break the rules and this costs us all, think about people who don't insure their cars or pay road tax, we all bear that cost. i don't like the Blair/Brown time we have had, but would change make any difference, unless you go green, or ukip or even bnp then yes it would, but as thats not going to happen then probably no. I don't have a problem with emmigration, i don't have an issue with most things but i do think that we as a nation ( which i myself served for ten years) we like to use this all as an excuse your our own failings.

I live in devon and tourism is a major thing here and cornwall but have you seen the prices of a week on holiday down here its shocking, i can get a week in france for two weeks for the same price as a week here, and its cheaper to eat and enjoy yourself. this country is full of people who like to hide behind others failings and down to greed decide to charge the earth for things that quite frankly don't provide any value. i don't blame just the government for this i blame everyone. This is just my view.

Mate, I just read that out to Kerri, I feel I tad guilty now, your right, we should be changing this bit by bit ourselves.

I actually have something right up your alley at the moment, a friend of mine who I put Doug in touch with is doing a UK Trek 2010 around the whole coast, proceeds to the forces.
