Christmas Ads

Postby Kip FX Design » 07 Dec 2009, 08:23

Ok Guys & Gals, its is that time of year again, so do you advertise heavily to set up for the new year, or do you hold back and go for it come January?

This month I will be getting a friend who owns a great PPC company to go into my G-Ads and add some va va voom, my attempts have been nothing short of terrible, I decided to do the 'that will do' method, which in turn means I pay google for absolutely nothing!

Its SEO and Maximising week.

Thoughts on Xmas advertising please peeps and peepettes!

We tend to launch offers and the like towards the end of the year, with a view to padding the Jan/Feb order book out a little. Also, a lot of organisations review their budgets (or have to close old/start new) around this time, which can make it a good time of year to make contact.

Quite busy at the moment so booking ahead, which is good - hence no heavily advertising, just some gentle nudging of existing contacts! :)

Similar. I have attended two or three marketing meetings in the last month, planning for the new year. Plan is for nothing to come out pre-christmas, with a maildrop targeted for the end of January 2010.

I'm in the camp that I will do a litle advertising pre-Christmas but more towards the end of January. It sounds harsh, but I have to hope that companies will see Christmas as a time to fill up on orders and not do the usual credit checking and then struggle to get the cash at the back end of January.

Nothing much pre-Christmas other than a "thank you" to existing clients in the form of a discount on future invoicing.

Big celebration come January with lots of special offers and other things because Office Stuff will be 5 years old. Will be doing various marketing exercises over the Christmas period which I shall be putting into effect at the beginning of January.

For us there is no real point advertising in December as its too late. We tend to start pushing gifts like Diaries and Calendars in August (I know sorry!) and ideally we like to have all orders with pre-Christmas delivery order by end of November or first week in December. Saying that we still get enquiries this late and we can still get some products out before Christmas now!

January is normally a quieter month for sales and enquiries but we do get some interest for valentines day gifts like heart stress toys, pens and fizzy love heart sweets (my fav!) etc for delivery in February after that it picks up again.
