OK, so as a graphic designer, I thought I would kick off the design side.

Interesting that you should ask this as I only had a conversation with someone yesterday who designs email stationery and digital stationery for businesses.

I find it surprising that people do not utilise these avenues fully. How many people fail to use the reverse of their business cards for example.

Also, are people really aware of the legal implications of the information that has to appear on their correspondence, emails and invoices. It's surprising how many people aren't if they are outside of the industries that are legislated such as lawyers and financial advisers.

I will leave it at that for now as I have asked my colleague to do a guest blog for me on the whole topic and will post a link at a later date.

Your right!

I am guilty of not setting up my own! Bit of the old painter and decorators never paints his own house type of thing!

I really should set this up as signatures before the start of the week, Thanks Helen!

I'm getting better at all of this. Got my business cards done properly and they carry the brand over from my website. Letterhead, invoices and the like all use the same logos and company details etc. The one thing I need to do is get my email signature done properly.

I have business cards that were designed 4 years ago but since I have updated the look and feel of my website I must admit I have let this slip. They really could do with updating - same goes for my letterhead.

As a VA I don't actually send out much paper correspondence, most is sent by email and in pdf format however I really need to look at designing my correspondence templates as again these have the look and feel of my old website.

I worked for DFS many years ago, and thats where i really learnt the importance (dare i say power) of branding and having a format business (ie everything the same), The same goes for your headers and stationary, so force yourself to find the time to do it, I have a great client (Health & Safety company) that really know the power of branding and a format running through, and they just keep growing and growing!
