I think they are a must (and I'm not just saying that because it is all I am doing at the moment!!!)

I think they are a lovely gesture and the more personal the better!

After some sound advice from some twitter friends, we decided to send out printed cards. I would agree that it's more personal to recieve a printed card than an e mail card. Because birthday parties are part of our business which are only once a year we find we then don't hear from them again maybe for 2years or ever(!) We hope this will get us back in their thoughts and thus more work or at least they will recommend us to someone else.
