presentation topics

the date has been set as the 10th december in plymouth for my presentation. open invite to anyone who is interested in being coached, or wants to learn more about how a coach can help their business, there is a charge for the event of £50 and its for a max of 50 people. there will be refreshments and networking opps at the end, should last about 2-3 hours.

as business owners what subjects would you want to be discussed, on top of the basics of what a coach is, what it can do for you etc. are there any topics questions which you would ask. i've got a presentation set up but would like to cover areas which would be of concern to small business owners. do you think putting a video on you tube of the presentation would be a good idea, i'm not afraid of speaking out ( as some of you are aware) so try to make my presentations entertaining as well as informative.

kind regards

This sounds like a seminar, and as such am surprised there is a charge for it. As a small business I think this would be out of my league, especially given the content - helping me decide if I want a business coach. The business coach I am working with at the moment, apart from being part of a prize I won, offers a free taster session to cover whether you would benefit from coaching. That free one on one session I had before I won the prize was enough for me to see the value of what they had to offer, and to want more when I had enough funds to cover it.

In terms of the presentation you have mentioned I would like to see examples of different coaching methods, how online resources such as Skype can be used for coaching, examples of how your coaching actually helped/aided/impacted on real businesses so case studies. I would like an indication of the cost of the coaching but then shown how that is repaid in terms of tangible results.

I am sorry to sound negative, I am not wanting to do that, I am also trying to relate this back to my former employers as well, and how they would have viewed the presentation idea. I am pretty certain my former employer, who did have business coaching, would not have paid to attend a presentation on the topic.

I look forward to your feedback after the event.

i don't find any feedback negative, the presentation is just over half full at moment, i too offer free taster sessions. The presentation contains certain parts of a coaching session so i like to think the audience get something out of the talk even if they don't take on a coach, i like the idea of going into different methods, i also cover coaches who are part of one of the many institutes that are going around trying to make costs to the profession for no reason. ( no problem with regulation but i don't want a made up qualification to be part of it, rather it done on feed back from past customers, controversal subject i know, but i think the Action Coaches out there will be mightly p***** off if they have to pay several thousand pounds for a qualification on top of the mega money they spent for there training). I've got various packages available which show fixed costs or offer customised packages to the budget limited clients.

i shall certainly provide feedback from the presentation.

Well what a afternoon, had 42 business owners turn up, so a good turn out, plenty of good feedback and i achieved what i set out to achieve, that is to raise the profile of coaching and the benefits it deliver's. If any of the owners follow up on promises then i will hopefully be taking on another coach to deal with the extra work which is good news for me as a business owner. plus i got my wallpapering done early on, so my wife is doublely happy.
