Christmas Parties

Christmas Parties

Postby Kip FX Design » 30 Nov 2009, 20:54

So its that time of year again, time to dust off the tux or black dress and get some fine wine and company at the Christmas Party.

Where is yours, when di you book it, how many people etc, tell us all.

The reason I ask, is I have just tried on the new tux pants, and need 4 inches taking off :) the jacket went in the other day to have the sleeves taken up by 2 inches, I think I am shrinking!

It is a new tux, not really shrinking, and the Christmas Party me and the little blonde are going to is at Studio 54, courtesy of fellow forum member, old school chum and client, Phoenix Health & Safety, or Nick to be precise, as usual we left the hotel too late and ended up in a different hotel, looked at booking a car with @njsexecutive but just couldn't afford the splurge for the night, shame as I like things like that, you should follow him on twitter if you ever use car services, I like the way that man thinks and speaks, he has his head screwed on. I like that.

Anyway, just seeing what everyone else is up to, but not the VA's as they will obviously have a bottle of wine on their own.

A pre-emptive seasons wishes to you all! (The Mac will be shut down for a few days I am told :D )

The last company Christmas do I went to was in 1992!!

Got married in 1997 and since then anywhere either my wife or I have worked at have had parties where you could bring your partner, so as a matter of principal I refuse to go. This year my day job employee will be holding theirs on December 9th at a restaurant in Munich city center. I shall look forward to ignoring the stories of Germans talking about how many sausages they eat.

Thank you so much for once again dissing us lowly VA's, I cannot believe you called us witches on Twitter, its a good job we love you or a hex would certainly be heading your way this morning!

You will be pleasantly pleased to know that we are actually having several Xmas events in our VA Support Group, several are meeting up this weekend for a night of frivolity and next Friday will see me travelling to Birmingham to meet up with several of the team for a rather lovely lunch.

I am also out for a meal this week with the mum's that still keep in touch from nursery, and possibly a meal with a couple of clients as well.

So fear not dear, us poor sad little lonely VA's are anything but.

Bring on the party!!!!

Here is me having a giggle about VA's working on their own, and guess what I do?

I too work on my own, am probably just upset that I do not have a Arrogant Designers Support Group!

But I am loving N2 and all the great people on here, and the welcome that the news members get is fantastic! What a great bunch!

i'm having a new year party rather than a christmas one, my wife and i are going to the opera at ROH to see La Boheme in jan before going to the boat shown at docklands ( we like our boats), I'm taking my most improved clients with me as a treat to use up some of their new found freedom, Always think great performance should be rewarded. Nice night away in a hotel round the corner from the gardens, plenty of wine will be flowing i'm sure, makes writing cheques for boats alot less painfull. Added bonus we get a night away from the children, or should that be a they get a rest from us.

certainly of the boats, the first in line of the boat we've order will be there ours does'nt arrive till apirl 2011 ( such along time but will be worth it). if my wife takes her bag rather than clutch i'll take photo's of night out, two ex sailors, a head of a construction company, owner of a boat company ( and no i'm not his client he does fishing boats), and a hairdresser with partners, sounds like an easy way to lower the tax bill hahahahahaha. i just read my previous post hope it doesn't sound like we're posh, anyone who has spoken to me knows thats not the case. lol i eat fish and chips with my fingers.
