Huge Blogging Tip

Just a thought here guys, just whizzed an email off to a N2 member, with the best ping to's, so thought i should let everyone have them, afterall it's why we are all here.

When you write a new blog entry, you should 'ping' the engines so that it is searchable/findable ASAP, I showed Doug a couple of these when he was over the other night, since then i have found a few more, and you can put these in the bottom box under Settings>Writing (this is for WordPress) and it will automatically ping them all for you on every new article submission.

Just for the record, I was playing around with just two of these and dominated google for 3 weeks with the Twitter Background Tutorials, just using 2 ping back services, the advice was given to me by fellow N2 member 'Nick' of Phoenix Health & Safety, he is not a self labelled SEO expert, but his site is top again and again, that is the proof in the pudding!

The very best thing to do if possible is to integrate your blog with ping service(s) behind the scenes, so it happens automatically.

There are also some pages which let you send out multiple pings, e.g: http://pingler.com/!

Can someone automate this for me?

I haven't a clue what you are talking about "pingbacks". Would rather it just happened.

Thanks.

Are you using Wordpress? If so it's not really my bag, but a quick search showed up this which might be interesting..

It seems that WP has some "ping integration" by default, but that it might be a bit naff!

Those sites listed above and the Instructions on how to use them (READ IT AGAIN DOUG) set it as an automatic ping everytime you post a blog!

I personally have seen great hits from this, far more than my local organic hits, and we have those tied up nicely! Just have to inore and kick out all the spam comments, whatever you do, do not auto allow them!
