Photographs on a business card?

Well my initial thoughts are no! but with a publishing and graphics background i know that any press article coupled with the editors picture or "persons" picture is a must in the world of print publishing. take a look at your newspapers, and magazine article's I bet 99% start top left with the editors picture and name below, it is standard practice but to use a photo on a business would give it a personal touch but i think that if you are going to provide somebody a business card you do not have that personal relationship as yet and you are still building on this, so i would have to say no to this topic's initial question.

I must admit though if it attracts the eye more of your daily 1,000,000 newspaper readers then it may well work on the cards, i have certainly not seen it done to date and I have seen many a business card in my publishing days.

It would give your cards a unique and personal touch.

If anyone has tried this i would be interested to here the feedback!

Funnily enough I got given a business card last week that had a photo on.. was for someone in the public speaking game. The card looked ok and I have to say will stick in my mind for a while, so job done I guess.

My first lesson in business cards was when I was but a wee whipper snapper, I asked my Dad why he was hole punching his business cards, and he said "Because of that!"

People will ask, bearing in mind this is about 25 years ago, it still stays with me now, make them stand out, make people question you on them, and above all, be memorable!

No not for me,,, ARGHHH, perish the thought.

i was looking at a bunch of wedding photography leaflets the other day, and my two favourites, and 4 other peoples 2 favourites both had a small photo of the photographer on the back. the rest - about 10 leaflets had nothing. i liked the idea and thought it added a personal touch to the literature.

you know very well goody coz you printed them.... ;-)

i used to put serious ones on them - pictures similar to those that i was trying to sell services for but now i've got a moose on my card and its getting much better reactions. its all about being remembered.
